Chromacy is free to try. Pro is $3.99, paid once. There’s no subscription, no account and no ads.
The free trial
Section titled “The free trial”The trial gives you 5 photos with almost everything Chromacy does:
- Finding the subject’s color and naming it
- Answering your questions, with all three measures and the hue split
- How the color looks with each kind of color vision deficiency
- Color harmonies
- White-balance mode and tapping to measure another spot
- History on your iPhone
- Share images, which carry a small “Chromacy trial” watermark
When the five photos are used, everything you saved stays in your history. You can still open those results and share them.
Chromacy Pro
Section titled “Chromacy Pro”One purchase of $3.99 unlocks Pro for good:
- Unlimited photos
- On-device AI. It finds the subject before measuring (so a busy background matters less), explains each result in plain words, and reads questions in your own words, like “does it match the sea in the Caribbean or a peacock feather?”. Everything runs on your iPhone. The explanations and questions use Apple Intelligence, so they need an iPhone that supports it, running iOS 26 or later. The color science still makes every call: the AI explains the measurements, it never invents them.
- Live camera color picking: point the camera and pick a color without taking a photo first
- iCloud sync of your history across your devices, through your own private iCloud account
- Palette export
- Clean share images, without the trial watermark

Prices are in US dollars; the App Store shows the price in your own currency. The purchase goes through Apple, which handles payment and receipts.

What you need
Section titled “What you need”- An iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
- For the on-device AI analysis: iOS 26 or later on an iPhone that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence turned on.
Everything else, including all the color science, works on any iPhone that runs iOS 17.
